The Institute is committed to training the next generation of investigators through fellowships.
Heather Dahlen, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Medica Research Institute whose research focuses on human capital disruptions in children and young adults, as well as the impact of public policy on health insurance coverage, access, and affordability. Dr. Dahlen received a BA in International Economic Studies and a BBA in Business Administration from St. Norbert College, an MA in Applied Economics from San Diego State University, and a PhD in Applied Economics with a minor in Health Services Research from the University of Minnesota. While in graduate school, Dr. Dahlen worked at the State Health Access Data Assistance Center (SHADAC), analyzing state and federal survey data.
